Position: Unpaid Journalist

Job Summary:

WPRV internship program offers opportunities in the areas of Programming, Production, Marketing & Promotion, Sales, and more. Our internships offer meaningful educational and work experiences designed to meet the academic and career goals of the intern. Our management will teach and encourage, but it’s up to the student to bring an enthusiasm to learn.

 

Responsibilities:
Editorial focus: Interns are responsible for fact-checking, proofreading, research, and occasional writing for our online newsletter and/or blog. Candidates should exhibit strong grammar and writing skills and have previous professional experience (preferably at a newspaper/magazine). A major in journalism or English is preferred.

 

Qualifications:
•    Preferred English, Journalism, Public Relations, or Creative Writing major.
•    Must be able to cite sources and provide an even balance of opinion and facts.
•    Excellent writing and proofreading skills.
•    Attention to detail, ability to think creatively and write in an engaging way.
•    Excel under tight deadlines.
•    Team-Oriented.
•    Superb Interviewing Skills.
•    Must commit to daily, weekly, or monthly contributions
