Position: Unpaid Community Manager

WPRV internship program offers opportunities in the areas of Programming, Production, Marketing & Promotion, Sales, and more. Our internships offer meaningful educational and work experiences designed to meet the academic and career goals of the intern. Our management will teach and encourage, but it’s up to the student to bring an enthusiasm to learn.

Responsibilities:
•    Producing weekly community feature.
•    Computer and technical skills.
•    Assists in the planning and implementation of strategic internal and external communication plans
      involving the marketing and imaging of the radio station.
•    Monitors and help analyze news media coverage for WPRV.
•    Assists or directly provides counsel to Senior Management on public policy-related appearances and
      news media issues.
•    Prepares other representatives of WPRV for media interviews.
•    Using print, broadcast and Web-based communications develop and implement programs and
     messaging for internal and external audiences on news, public affairs and community affairs matters.
•    Build strong media relationships.
•    Acts as media contact for press inquiries related to Public Affairs.

Qualifications:
•    Research and compose public affairs related speeches, presentations, position papers, talking points,
     press releases, letters, Public Affairs Website content, communications plans and content, editorials
     and ads.
•    Provides coaching, media training and communications services to prepare radio station employees for
     public and press events.
•    Acts as media contact for press inquiries related to Public Affairs.
•    Demonstrated ability to provide strategic planning to implement a multimedia communications
      program.
•    Outstanding verbal, written (including grammatical usage, persuasive copy and style),
